Nilda Callañaupa Artist Reception

This is the kind of thing we dream of doing at Living Threads! To be able to highlight and host someone of vision and impact in the world of hand-made beauty. As the co-founder of the Cuzco Center for Traditional Textiles which supports weavers in 10 highland Peruvian villages, as well as author and international speaker, Nilda Callañaupa makes a difference to people in her home village, her country, and on this planet.

Together with ClothRoads and the Cuzco Center for Traditional Textiles (CTTC), we are honored to celebrate and host Nilda and her counterpart, Yanet Soto, also a master weaver and integral in the operations of the CTTC.  Serenaded by live Peruvian music, invigorated with tasty Peruvian snacks by Sabor Peruano, we will collectively enjoy a late afternoon reception and pop-up. There will be ongoing traditional weaving demonstrations and an opportunity to meet and visit with Nilda and Yanet. Likewise there will be a selection of exquisite Peruvian weavings gathered from the 10 villages that comprise the CTTC.

Come gather with us at Living Threads, enjoy community and send some love to the high Andes!

RSVP (please RSVP so that we can plan accordingly - thank you!)
